Gulf Coast Wellness (GCW) was established in June 2019 with the people’s best interests in mind. Our founder saw that the emerging CBD industry was vastly overpriced and quickly becoming saturated with inferior products. This inspired the strong belief that people have a right to high-quality, fairly priced, U.S. grown, hemp-derived CBD products, so our founder, Caleb Richey set out on a mission to be the premier resource for CBD products and education.  Since our first day in business we’ve been bringing the strongest merchandise at a fair price to our customers. Gulf Coast Wellness CBD is an Alabama company, focused on helping people. We strive to educate consumers while providing the highest quality CBD merchandise to both businesses and consumers alike.

So what is Duke's Choice?
Duke's Choice CBD Treats is our in house brand and flagship product featuring our beloved mascot, inspiration and favorite employee 'The Duke'. They were originally made as a homemade approach to providing affordable, quality treats for Duke. Quickly demand grew and before we knew it we happily had a refined version to offer to consumers and positive response has been overwhelming. For 5 years our founder ran this company himself and built the brand with Duke as quality control. Over time as demand grew so did the number of treats that needed to be made. In an attempt to keep up with demand, after working a day job Caleb and Duke would start mixing batches of dog treats running batches throughout the night and weekends until the kitchenaid mixer being used finally gave out. At that point he started running dog treat batches out of commercial kitchens available for rent and occasionally paying restaurants to rent their space and equipment before they closed for the night as a way to keep up with demand. Realizing the bottleneck in production output capacity was in the equipment and time available we found a kitchen well versed in CBD products that could match the standard of quality and increase output capabilities. We were able to partner with Flower Power kitchen in Auburn, Alabama to facilitate the outsourcing of our beloved treats. Working with them has proven to be a successful step in the right direction to allow brand growth and market expansion for a small single person business. I am working towards starting a sister company called "Duke's Choice" in order to manufacture non-CBD dog treats in order to sell to more markets and be able to advertise to reach more consumers. 

Who is Duke?
Duke is our founder's dog who was rescued from Lee County Humane Society in Auburn, AL. He served as the inspiration for these treats & has brought joy to so many people through his big personality. Duke is a 'super mutt' with 50% of his DNA consisting of Siberian Husky; to see his full results check out Duke's Instagram! He has always loved sun tanning & being active. To keep Duke healthy these treats were formulated as all natural, preservative free, handmade treats that your dog will love too!
